Your story matters: Join us on April 25th for Draft Day 2025
Hit publish with us and find connections at Medium’s second annual (Finish Your) Draft Day
Every person on the planet has wisdom to share. Stories are a way for us to connect with and learn from each other, and everyone has a story, whether or not we always realize it. And by “everyone,” I mean you.
On Friday, April 25th, 9 AM to 7 PM ET, we’re hosting our second annual Draft Day on Medium — a day dedicated to helping people overcome publishing hesitation and finally share their stories (see our 2024 Draft Day announcement here).
This year, we’ll host a live supportive Writing Room on Zoom, where Medium staff and other writers from the community will be on hand to encourage and celebrate people publishing their drafts. We’ll provide inspiring prompts (what’s your “what I wish I knew” story?), practical resources, and the motivational environment many writers need.
Think of the draft you’ve been meaning to finish. It may be sitting in your head somewhere, or in your Medium drafts folder. But a “draft” is so much more than just that. It’s a connection waiting to happen, a conversation waiting to start. And Medium is a network of curious people, looking to read stories to connect with. Let us help you reach your readers by getting your stories published.
How can you participate?
1. Check out our all-day Writing Room on Zoom on April 25th, from 9 AM to 7 PM ET, and register to join.
2. Choose a story in your Drafts folder you’d like to finish up (on Medium: https://medium.com/me/stories/drafts) or start a new one at story.new.
3. Polish it up and hit publish. Use the topic “Draft Day 2025” when you post!
