New for members: download lists to read anywhere

Whether you’re on a plane or subway, out of data, or with a poor internet connection, now you can continue to read uninterrupted with a Medium membership. Download lists directly to your device with the latest version of our Android and iOS apps which begin rolling out today to take them with you wherever you go.

Here’s how it works:

If you haven’t already, become a Medium member and make sure you have the latest version of the Medium app available and installed. Then, while connected to the internet, navigate to your library tab and tap the download button next to the lists you want available offline, or tap it from within a list itself. Once downloading is complete, you’ll be able to read those stories anywhere you don’t have internet access. Want to clear a downloaded list from your device? Just tap the download button again to remove it.

From your library, tap the download button to make a list available offline.

On Medium, authors in our Partner Program are compensated based on the time members spend reading their stories. Offline reading is no exception. When members read stories while offline, we keep track and attribute it to authors once they reconnect.

We hope you’ll enjoy the convenience of taking stories with you everywhere you go. Our goal is to continue improving your experience, so if you have a feature that would make reading on Medium better, let us know in the comments!
