If you visited your profile recently, you might have noticed that it’s been given a significant facelift.

Of all the improvement suggestions we receive at Medium from our readers and writers, profile organization has been the most frequently requested update.

The new profile navigation bar was born directly from your feedback. You wanted to be able to showcase your stories, front and center, without having responses to others on the platform bog down the beauty of your published pieces.

We get it. The new navigation bar now shows only your originally published stories in the Profile section, along with longer form responses (roughly determined as pieces that take more than a minute to read, a signal that we found showed your response was meatier and could stand on its own. After all, some of the best stories on Medium came as a reply to other original pieces!). The Latest tab is a chronological stream of all your stories in the order of publication. Your recommends and highlights are now split out into separates section for you and your profile visitors to peruse, and last but certainly not least, all your responses — big and small, short and long — are in the Responses tab.

As with everything on Medium, we’re not done yet. The platform is constantly improving and evolving. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the new profile navigation bar and what you might like to see next for the profile page. Respond here — we’re all ears (or rather, eyes) — and tag your post Medium Suggestion Box. We peruse that tag daily for all community suggestions — so feel free to use the tag whenever you have a thought about Medium that you’d like to reach us.
