Introducing lists: a new product feature in beta. Lists are an easy way to quickly organize and share stories, from personal favorites, to recommended reads within a topic or area of expertise, to themed lists around stories that inspire you. Want to save your favorite stories so you can revisit them? Organize ideas on the best writing on UX Design for your colleagues? Share helpful advice with friends? Tap the bookmark icon on a story to get started.

If you’re an avid Medium user, you may be familiar with the bookmark icon. Previously, it allowed you to privately save stories for later. Now, using the same icon, you can create a list about anything, give it a title, add context with a description, then share your list widely or set it to private. Stay tuned for more enhancements and keep sharing your feedback with us.

In addition to making and sharing your own lists, you can find out what others on Medium are curating. As you’re exploring new writers or ones you already love, visit their profiles to see the lists they’ve curated.

How to create, share, and discover lists

Create a list.

Add a story to a list by clicking on the bookmark icon on a story page, your homepage feed, or topic pages. From the bookmark icon, you can add a story to an existing list, or create a new list.

Customize lists and add your commentary.

Give your list a title and description, even add a note with your perspective to each list item to give context to people viewing your list. A note for writers in the Medium Partner Program: Creation of lists or inclusion of a story in a list has no direct bearing on distribution or earnings.

Share your lists.

Your lists will appear on your profile, unless you choose to make them private. To share your lists or lists from authors you trust, simply click the share icon.
